Europe family road trip day 7 – a few hours in Bruges

On day 7 we had our second European city visit to Bruges in Belgium. I had been really looking forward to this after a couple of days in Germany with not much to do as we were visiting family. I was ready to see some sights again and to see something new!

Unfortunately the weather was meant to be rain the whole day in Bruges which was typical after a whole week of high 30s sunshine! The rain even woke us up in the middle of the night as it hammered it down onto the roof!

Europe family road trip day 2 – exploring Amsterdam

Day two of our Europe road trip with kids was an entire day in Amsterdam! We did not travel anywhere in the car today, only by foot, boat and tram to explore the sights of Amsterdam. We literally had one full day in the main city of Amsterdam so had pre-planned what we wanted to see and do.

Relaxing at Thermae Bath Spa: A Rooftop Soak in Bath’s Natural Hot Springs

Bath has been a place of wellness for almost two thousand years. The Romans built their famous bathing complex here, drawn to the city’s natural thermal springs. Today, you can still visit those same ancient waters at the Roman Baths, and just across the street, step into the modern continuation of that legacy — Thermae Bath Spa.

It’s a unique experience in the UK, and somewhere I’d wanted to visit for years. Those photographs of the rooftop pool, steam swirling into the air over the Georgian skyline, had been tempting me for too long. Eventually, we made it happen.
