Australia is one of the top places I want to visit on my bucket list. I hope when the kids are a little older we can go for a fun packed adventure for a few weeks to Australia, New Zealand and Great Barrier Island.
Whilst I’m keen to explore the sights and sounds the cities and natural landscapes have to offer, I know the kids will be excited to visit the local theme parks in Australia and waterparks.
Waterparks definitely bring out the kid in all of us and are the perfect family day out for all ages.
Whether we make it to Australia anytime soon (we are in lockdown and the global pandemic of COVID-19 as I write this) or even if we go elsewhere on our next family adventure, we will definitely have waterparks top of our list so the kids can have an absolute blast!
Even though we can’t travel yet, we can still dream and plan our future adventures!
With that in mind, and the joys of being able to research all these wonderful places on the internet, here are some of the best recommended water parks to visit in Australia:
1. WhiteWater World

WhiteWater World is a colourful waterpark found in Coomera, Queensland, Australia.
There’s a mix of twelve thrilling water attractions to keep you soaked all day long!
Their newest ride is Fully 6 – a collection of six water slides. They say: “Each Fully 6 slide will offer a unique splash-tacular experience, with twists, turns and drops to get your adrenaline going. Our unique body slides will be the purest form of water slides that you can experience, with just you, the water and a big splash at the bottom.”
To get the best prices on your admission tickets, check out Best Tickets who source the best prices on tickets from over 40 vendors and resellers.
Best Tickets also offer a Dreamworld and WhiteWater World combo ticket so you can hop between both parks for three whole days for a great price for ultimate enjoyment!
2. WetSide Water Park
WetSide Water Park is a small waterpark and splash park found in Hervey Bay, Queensland, Australia. It’s highly recommended on many websites as it’s free to enter!
There are lots of splash areas where the kids can play for free and some rides which are reasonably priced according to reviewers who are mostly appreciative of the “free fun in the sun!”
There’s an area for toddlers, a tipping bucket for the older children and plenty of shade for the adults to sit in whilst the kids have a blast.
3. Gumbuya World
Gumbuya World can be found in Tynong, near Melbourne, in the beautiful Australian bush, and is voted the fourth top waterpark in Australia on Trip Advisor!
Water rides include The Lazy River and an incredibly large Family Wave Pool for some relaxing water fun. Then there’s Boomerango which shoots you through the air for the thrill seekers and the Red Belly Racer where you can race your friends!
They say “Enter Gumbuya World, the newest and best theme park in Melbourne! 4 worlds of fun and adventure on 1 ticket. 50 minutes from Melbourne!”
