On the final day of our family holiday to Rhodes, we found ourselves in that strange travel-day limbo. Bags packed, villa checked out, but hours left before our evening flight. We didn’t want the beach. We didn’t want to get wet or sandy. Everything was packed! We just needed something fun for the kids to pass the time before airports, queues and sitting still took over.

Ben had spotted something unusual on the map a few days earlier. A toy museum. In the middle of the mountains!

On our last day in Rhodes we woke up knowing it was going to be one of those slightly strange travel days. The kind where you’re packed and checked out but nowhere near ready to head for the airport. We had to check out in the morning, but our flight wasn’t until the evening. With the airport only a one hour drive away, if that, we had lots of time left for some exploring.

We still had the hire car until the evening and could drop it at the airport. This meant we could visit a few places before our flight home. We picked a couple of places along the route to the airport, simple stops that could fill the time without being tiring. St. Nektarios Monastery near Archipolis became one of them.

Tsambika Beach Rhodes Review: Family Friendly, Naturist Section And What To Expect

Our first glimpse of Tsambika Beach came in 2024 when we climbed Tsambika Mountain from the Kolymbia side. From the top we could see a long curved stretch of golden sand with bright turquoise sea and shallow water glistening below.

It looked untouched, natural and peaceful with no buildings lining the coastline, only sun loungers and, at the time, a large inflatable aquapark floating in the sea.

We didn’t have enough time to visit that year, so we made sure it was one of the first places on our list when we returned to Rhodes in 2025, with the hope of exploring the beach and the aquapark we had seen!

Pixel Pop Newquay Review & Photos

We recently visited Pixel Pop in Newquay for a unique interactive gaming experience using a real pixelated floor and wall. It’s a new tech adventure in Newquay, and we booked it for the kids as soon as we saw it online because it looked like so much fun.

When we visited Lindos, I knew I wanted to see the Acropolis of Lindos, one of the most famous landmarks on Rhodes.

From the village below, it towers above the whitewashed rooftops, perched high on the rocky hill like something out of another world.

You can see it from almost everywhere in Lindos, and it feels impossible not to want to climb up and see it properly.

But visiting wasn’t as straightforward as I’d imagined.

St Paul’s Bay & Mikros Gialos Beach, Lindos

When we think back to our time in Lindos, one of the places that really stayed with us was St Paul’s Bay. Just below the whitewashed village, this small, horseshoe-shaped cove is one of the prettiest spots in all of Rhodes.

It’s where golden sand meets calm turquoise water, framed by rocky cliffs and overlooked by the Acropolis of Lindos above. And tucked inside the bay are two lovely beaches – Mikros Gialos Beach, lively and social, and Agios Pavlos Beach, smaller and more peaceful beside the chapel.

We didn’t have time for a full beach day here, but after passing the bay twice on our way to and from Lindos, we knew it was somewhere we’d love to return to.

T-Veg Review: Vegan Lunch & Dinner With Rooftop Lindos Views

When we first planned to revisit Rhodes, I already knew I wanted to spend more time in Lindos. Not only to wander its maze of whitewashed streets and soak up the views, but also to find somewhere we could all enjoy eating together as a vegan family.

That’s how we discovered T-Veg – an entirely vegan restaurant right in the heart of Lindos, serving everything from plant-based Greek classics to smoothie bowls and pastas.

It quickly became one of our favourite places on the island. So much so that we went twice – once for lunch in the sunshine, and again for dinner under the glow of the Acropolis.

Wandering The Streets Of Lindos, Rhodes

On our recent family holiday to Rhodes, we spent time exploring one of the island’s most famous and picturesque spots – Lindos. Last year, we only passed by it by boat, gliding past the coastline from St Paul’s Bay on our way to Navarone Bay aboard the Hippo Submarine.

From the water, Lindos looked beautiful, stacked white buildings beneath an ancient acropolis on the hilltop. I knew then I wanted to return and explore it properly on foot one day.
