Sicily has been catching our attention as a top destination for a family-friendly holiday this year. With its stunning coastline, historic sites, and world-famous Italian cuisine (hello, pizza and pasta!), it’s easy to see why it’s a dream destination—especially for our daughter, who is eager to taste authentic Italian food and has been asking us to go to Italy for this very reason!

We’ve been researching places to visit in Italy, and Sicily keeps standing out as a fantastic option. There are so many gorgeous photos of Sicily online, as well as videos for inspiration and this 7-day Sicily Itinerary which highlights some of the island’s best sights, from ancient ruins to stunning coastal towns. It has given us plenty of inspiration for planning our own trip!

Here’s why this Mediterranean island is on our travel radar for 2025 and why it might be the perfect holiday destination for families.
