So Much to Do for Free!

As you can see, there’s no shortage of free activities for kids at Bluestone Resort. It’s especially ideal for younger children under 12, as many of the attractions are geared toward that age group. We visited in 2018 and 2019 with our children when they were younger, and they absolutely loved it. Even in 2024, our 12- and 9-year-olds still had a blast, although our eldest was just on the cusp of outgrowing some of the play areas.

You may also find free seasonal activities during your stay. For example, when we visited for Twixmas breaks in 2018 and 2019, the Kingdom of the Elves experience was included in the price. However, during our 2024 visit, this experience had become a paid activity. But guests who booked for the following Christmas while holidaying there over Christmas would receive free tickets to Kingdom of the Elves for the next year.

But what if you are travelling without kids? What is there for adults to do for free at Bluestone if anything? Read on to find out.

Free Things To Do at Bluestone Wales for Adults

While Bluestone is primarily a family resort, especially popular with those travelling with primary school-aged children, there are still some nearby free activities that adults can enjoy. Whether you’re visiting as a couple or just looking to escape for a peaceful getaway, Bluestone offers several options for relaxation and outdoor enjoyment.

Though we’ve only visited during school holidays, and as a family with children, I can imagine Bluestone is a wonderful spot for adults too, especially in quieter term times. The resort’s combination of a spa, restaurants, and a public house offers a nice mix of options for those seeking relaxation. If you’re not travelling with children, it’s easy to see how Bluestone may be a peaceful retreat during off-peak times.

For those willing to splurge, Bluestone does offer its own spa called The Well Spa, which features a thermal suite with various steam rooms, saunas, showers, and pools. They also offer treatments and afternoon tea, including a vegan afternoon tea option. It’s a lovely spot for pampering, and if you’re travelling with teens, children aged 14+ can also visit the spa with an adult. It sounds like a real treat!

But if you’re looking to enjoy Bluestone on a budget, there are still some nearby free activities for adults. Here’s a selection of the best options for your adult holiday at Bluestone:

Walking and Hiking Trails

Bluestone is surrounded by beautiful scenery, and there are a number of walking and hiking trails suitable for all fitness levels. Whether you prefer a gentle stroll or a more challenging hike, the resort offers stunning views and fresh air—all at no extra cost. You can enjoy short loops directly from Bluestone or venture into nearby Canaston Woods and Minwear Woods for a deeper connection with nature.

Evening Strolls and Sunset Views

One of the most peaceful activities for adults is simply taking an evening walk through the Bluestone grounds. The sunsets over the surrounding countryside are breathtaking and provide the perfect opportunity to unwind after a busy day. It’s an ideal way to relax, reflect, and enjoy the tranquil surroundings of Bluestone.

Exploring Pembrokeshire Coast

Bluestone’s location in Pembrokeshire means you’re only a short drive away from some of the most beautiful beaches in Wales. These beaches are free to visit and offer stunning views and the chance to spend a peaceful day by the sea. The Pembrokeshire Coast Path also runs through the area, providing excellent walking opportunities with spectacular coastal scenery.

Nature and Outdoor Exploration

For adults who enjoy nature, Bluestone offers plenty of opportunities to explore the great outdoors. The surrounding countryside is filled with peaceful spots for reflection and nature walks, and it’s a great place to take in the sights and sounds of the Welsh countryside.

Blue Lagoon swimming (if you don’t mind families & kids around you)

While the Blue Lagoon swimming pool is included in your stay, it may not be ideal for adults looking for a quieter, more relaxing environment. During our visits, the pool quickly became very busy with families and young children, and we didn’t see any dedicated adult-only swim times. It’s a fun place for families, but if you’re seeking a peaceful swim experience, you may want to explore other options during your stay.

Final Thoughts on Free Things To Do at Bluestone…

Whether you’re looking to explore the outdoors with your little ones, relax by the lakes, or enjoy a quiet evening stroll, Bluestone provides plenty of opportunities to have fun without spending extra.
