Wondering how much a family holiday to Cornwall in October costs for four people? I’ll reveal exactly how much we spent in October 2019 on our Cornish beach holiday for seven days.
We recently spent the October half term in Cornwall staying at Pentewan Sands 5-star holiday resort. We tried to be careful with what we spent, but we had a few treats. I was always mindful of what we were spending and kept a holiday spending diary so we could keep track of our budget. Read on to see how much we spent. In this blog post I’ll share a little about our recent visit to the beach at West Portholland in Cornwall. You’ll also find lots of our travel photos and a video of the day at the end of this travel blog post.
Portholland is a special place to my husband Ben as it’s where his Dad’s best friend lives. Ben’s Dad is originally from Cornwall but moved away from Cornwall as an adult and has since lived in a few different locations. His best friend, Trounce, has always stayed in Cornwall.
Trounce is a farmer in West Portholland and we have visited him and his wife every time we’ve been to Cornwall. Ben has fond memories of visiting every summer as a child and now visits with his own children to make even more amazing memories! In this blog post I will share my Pentewan Sands Holiday Park review and lots of photos at the end. Pentewan Sands is a holiday resort in Cornwall with a privately owned beach called Pentewan Sands beach. Continue reading “Cornwall with kids: Pentewan Sands Holiday Park review”
In this blog post I will share our quick visit to Polperro in Cornwall and our photos.
We worked out this is our fourth time to Cornwall (since me and Ben have been together). We’d been for a short trip before kids to Perranporth and stayed in Ben’s tiny tent. When Bella was perhaps one or two we stayed in The Victoria Hotel in Newquay. Two years ago we stayed for one week in the middle of North Cornwall somewhere and this time we have stayed for a week at Pentewan Sands Holiday Park.
Whilst I can’t really remember too much about the first two trips, we have typically had the worst weather on both our week long stays! Continue reading “Cornwall with kids: Polperro”
On our recent trip to Cornwall we managed a quick stop at Porthluney Beach. See our photos and videos at the end of this blog post of Porthluney Beach.
The day we went to Porthluney Beach was very wet and windy. Typically we had a storm that lasted two and a half days during our Cornwall holiday with high winds and heavy rain. It was non stop for nearly half our holiday!
We managed around 30 minutes on Porthluney Beach before we were all absolutely drenched, even with waterproofs and wellies! Continue reading “Cornwall with kids: Porthluney Beach”
In this blog post I will share our visit to Hemmick Beach in Cornwall and photos.
On our recent holiday to Cornwall with kids we visited some beaches we have never been to before in Cornwall. That was my plan for this trip. We’ve been to Cornwall around three or four times before and we usually go back to the same places each time: Portholland, Newquay and Perranporth.
There’s always good reason as Ben has family friends in Portholland that practically live on the tiny beach on one side, and his grandparents were from Perranporth and there’s a bench up above the beach that is dedicated to them. I love the beaches at Newquay and there’s lots to see and do, so we tend to go there too. Of course it’s lovely to visit these places, but as I keep saying to Ben about travelling – every time we visit the same place, we lose a chance to see somewhere new. Life is short and I want to see as many places as possible! Continue reading “Visiting Hemmick Beach in Cornwall with kids”
During our October 2019 holiday to Cornwall we decided to walk the coast path from Pentewan Sands Beach to Mevagissey with the kids. Our kids are ages seven and four. It was just under 2 miles and probably just enough for them as there was lots of steep hill climbing for their little legs. We’d already walked around 8km on the beach before taking them on this trek! In this blog post I’ll share lots of photos of our coastal path walk to Mevagissey. Continue reading “Cornwall with kids: walking the coast path to Mevagissey”
This October we went to Cornwall for one week with our kids ages seven and four years. We explored lots of beaches including Pentewan Sands Beach which is a privately owned beach in front of Pentewan Sands Holiday Park. I’ll share our thoughts of the beach and then all the photos at the end of the blog post. Continue reading “Visiting Pentewan Sands Beach in Cornwall with kids”
