Daymer Beach to Brea Beach: coastal path walk with stunning views!

I love walking the Cornish coastal paths. You get to see the beaches from a different view and whenever we’re in Cornwall, I’m always stunned by how clear, blue and turquoise the seas actually are.

From the beach, you simply can’t always tell how incredible the water truly is. Definitely take a walk up the coastal paths when you see them to appreciate the full beauty of the Cornish sea and the stunning coastal views.

Today I walked a short coastal path from Daymer Beach to Brea Beach in Cornwall. Including walking across Daymer beach from their car park, the walk there and back was around 3km. If you don’t have a lot of things to carry then it was much quieter at Brea Beach and not far at all.

We prefer finding quieter spots when we can, however I left Ben and the kids paddling in the water at Daymer Beach which was pretty busy. I went for a walk alone to see the next beach along. The coast path looked amazing and I just had to see the views.

The kids were happy playing in the water so I didn’t want to drag them with me on this one! I was happy to wait for bigger waves at Watergate Bay later in the day for my fill of bodyboarding!

The location of Daymer Beach in Cornwall
Daymer Beach North Cornwall good for kids
The water here is the River Camel estuary. On our visit it was really still and really shallow for ages. People far away were only waist deep. It seems the perfect spot for young kids to splash around safely in the water. It also seemed the ideal spot for Reuben to learn to get his balance on his bodyboard – he kept falling off in the waves at Harlyn Bay the day before!

Splashing around in the shallow waters. Bella has taken to bodyboarding so well. Later in the day she was gliding along on the large waves at Watergate Bay without a fear! You’d never know she was once petrified of getting in the water, needing two years of private lessons to combat the fear and learn to swim 10 metres! Go Bella! We are so proud of you!

We may have got a bit carried away and bought two of these SUP-YAK boards in preparation for our move to the coast… 😝🙈 Very excited to see more of the beautiful Cornish coast from another angle! Lots of water adventures coming soon!
