For the second year running we attended the Sudeley Castle Spectacle of Light show.

We went last year for the Alice in Wonderland light show. This year the theme was Peter Pan.

Sudeley Castle is in Winchcombe, Cheltenham. It’s in our home county of Gloucestershire so not far for us to travel at all.

Below is my review of Sudeley Castle Spectacle of Light and loads of photos of the magnificent 2019 light show!

Last year we were totally amazed as we had never been before and didn’t know what to expect. This year we knew what would be, but we were still just as excited to go as it was so amazing before!

The show definitely doesn’t disappoint and is a feast for the eyes! Sudeley Castle really does go all out on this show.

If I lived in the Castle I’d be walking the grounds every evening to see the amazing lights.

They make the castle and it’s ruins look even more stunning as they’re lit up in all sorts of magical colours.

I can only imagine how much of an enchanting experience this is for the children. It must blow their minds!

As adults we are impressed, so I imagine Bella and Reuben, ages seven and four, must truly be captured by its magic.

We did recognise some of the lights from last year, but moved to different places.

For the most part, they seemed like new lights and the route was different and theme so it was a new experience all in all.

It’s so well done and they barely leave an inch of the grounds without lights to gawp at!

As there was last year, there’s a great selfie spot! This year was a star and last year was a heart.

We took food with us this year, well we took packed lunches for the kids, but there are plenty of food options on the way round the light trail.

(Not our child as ours didn’t want to queue!)

We weren’t sure there would be vegan options so took the kids food, but we spied a vegan curry, chips, jacket potato and sweet potato fries that would all have been great for us!

Next time we know there will be lots of options. That’s if we go again. I would definitely return, but I’d also like to see some other Christmas light shows and events such as Westonbirt Arboretum who put on an interactive light show.

We avoid the Christmas light switch ons in town most years as it’s just so busy. It’s much better to wander around something like this at our own pace without worrying about being squished up in a big crowd!

We saw three actors as we walked around; Peter Pan, Hook and not Tinkerbell, but this crazy fairy lady looking after the fairy garden or something!

We didn’t stop too long to find out as we were pretty cold and the kids wanted to keep shuffling along!

For the second year running we were very impressed with the light show and would recommend going if you can!
