What to do and where to stay in Florence

I have been lucky enough to be able to travel to Florence for work, but at the same time I was unlucky to not see everything this incredible city has to offer.  As my visit was work orientated I had no time to explore the delights of Florence and so I must return one day as a tourist.

I was fortunate enough to be able to walk from my hotel to my place of work each day so I did manage to get a feel for the streets of Florence and witness some of the incredible architecture this city has to offer.

Today I have a guest post for you to share some ideas of what to do and where to stay if you are considering a visit to Florence yourself.  I’ll be taking on board all the advice for when I revisit Florence in the future.

A suite for your needs

Sleeping in a luxury suite is not a frivolous tantrum, but a wise choice, denoting the ability to take care of yourself and give your stay a unique and unforgettable atmosphere. Whether you are travelling for business or pleasure, it is important to prefer an accommodation that facilitates travel and allows you to enjoy the beauty of the place, while giving moments of well-being in the name of relaxation, aesthetics and taste.

And Tuscany, considered a celebration of exclusive locations, is perfect to spend a stay between luxury and elegance with your family, friends or with a special person. It is a place where you are surrounded by colours, by an architecture as varied as it is unique, by artistic and eno-gastronomic culture, by centuries-old traditions that still keep alive the spirit and identity of this region. To this, it is necessary to mention the delicious food, the excellent wine and the centuries-old tradition of hospitality that distinguishes it.

Daydreaming about the perfect holiday with panoramic sunsets, staying in a luxury hotel with wellness center or in a villa resort with fabulous services and comforts and sumptuous furnishings…it will become a reality right here in Tuscany!

What to do in Florence?

What if you are visiting Tuscany’s capital, Florence, for the first time? Well, you probably don’t want to miss some of its “symbols” par excellence: the Uffizi Gallery, Michelangelo’s David (the original is at the Accademia Gallery), Brunelleschi’s Duomo and Dome, Ponte Vecchio or taste the specialties of the table such as the pappa col pomodoro and the typical dishes prepared in Florentine restaurants.

If you want to surprise your partner, climb up Brunelleschi’s Dome or the Arnolfo Tower in Palazzo Vecchio: the view will leave you breathless!

Shopping lovers will be able to indulge in the artisan shops of the Oltrarno districts, in the shops of the big names and luxury boutiques (you will find them in Via Roma and Via Tornabuoni) or in the most commercial shops and within reach of all the pockets in the center.

For a coffee choose Rivoire in Piazza della Signoria or Gilli and Caffe Paskoski in Piazza della Repubblica, for a stop in the most famous places in Florence, but know that prices are well above average.
